Couldn't find X

Hallo,

ich möchte das /xpdf-2.01 installieren.
Nach einem Aufruf von
/configure --prefix=$PWD --enable-a4-paper --with-appdef-dir=$PWD
bekomme ich die Meldung

configure: WARNING: Couldn't find X / Motif -- you will be able to compile
pdftops, pdftotext, pdfinfo, pdffonts, and pdfimages, but not xpdf

Hat jemand einen Tipp was das bedeutet?
